The government of Bangladesh has fully reopened “Visa on Arrival” facility to attract foreign investment, technology, expand trade & commerce as well as promote tourism for Bangladeshi origin foreign nationals and foreign nationals alike.
A maximum of 30 days permission to stay in Bangladesh (single entry) will be extended to the following upon satisfactory production of necessary documents:
a) Citizens travelling from the country where there is no Bangladeshi representation may be accorded “Visa on Arrival” based on the purpose of travel.
b) Foreign investor / Business person may be accorded “Visa on Arrival” on the basis of letter from investor from Bangladesh business house or certificate (if applicable) from Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) / Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA).
c) For official purpose, business, investment and tourism, travellers holding passport of USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Russian Federation, China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, Turkey, Brunei and European countries may be accorded “Visa on Arrival” on production of necessary documents.
d) A traveller who travels from a country where there is no Bangladeshi representation and he/she is not a national of that country, may be accorded “Visa on Arrival” upon necessary examination.
e) A foreign national of Bangladeshi origin, his/her spouse/ children may be granted “Visa on Arrival” on production of Bangladeshi citizenship certificate or proof of Bangladeshi nationality.
f) Members of staff working in Diplomatic Missions and UN offices in Bangladesh may be accorded “Visa on Arrival” upon satisfactory production of relevant documents.
Procedure to avail “Visa on Arrival”:
I. Visa fee shall be paid in foreign currency (USD/ GBP/ EURO).
II. With exception of government official duty, a travelling foreigner shall have minimum of $500/- or equivalent foreign currency in cash/ card.
III. Return ticket shall be confirmed.
IV. Necessary documents for “Visa on Arrival” shall be produced.
