A Power of Attorney (POA) is a written authorization to represent or act on another’s behalf in business or some other legal matter. Bangladeshi National living in abroad can use POA as a legal way of managing the property, bank loans, stocka and other tangible property in Bangladesh.

The original Power of Attorney documents must be attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Dhaka within 2 months from the date of attestation by the Assistant High Commission.

• Applicants living in the following areas may approach Bangladesh Assistant High Commission, Manchester for consular services:
  North East & North West England: Northumberland, Durham, Tyne and Wear, Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire, North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, Humberside, Derbyshire
  North Wales: Clwyd, Gwynedd
  Isle of Man and
  Scotland.

• Bangladeshi origin UK/ EU nationals having valid Bangladeshi Passport.

• Applicants living in the following areas may approach Bangladesh Assistant High Commission, Manchester for consular services:

Please prepare the Power of Attorney (POA) in accordance with the rules laid down by the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in ‘The Power of Attorney Act-2015’. Please make sure that the information of the executant(s) and recipient(s) in POA matches with that of their passports/NIDs. The Executant(s) must sign the POA in front of the Consular Officer of Bangladesh Assistant High Commission, Manchester.

Please download, print and sign the POA application form. Please note that in case of more than one executant, only the first executant should fill-in and sign the application form.

Please bring with you the application form, unsigned POA (2 sets) and relevant documents on any working day. Prior appointment is required to avail this service. Please note that the application submission time is between 10:00 – 13:00 hrs. Hence, applicants are requested to be present at the Mission by 12:30 hrs at the latest. Applicants are also requested to visit our website www.bahcmanchester.org for holiday notice.

Applicants BY POST are requested to bring a Prepaid Next Day Special Delivery Return Envelope during submission of their applications.

For Executant(s) :

1. Duly filled-in and signed application form; (in case of more than one executant, only the first executant should fill-in and sign the application);
2. 02 (two) sets of unsigned Power of Attorney;
3. Executant(s) valid Bangladeshi passport only (Passport validity should be minimum 6 months);
4. 3 (three) copies of recent passport size photograph (colour photo with white background) for each of the executant(s);
5. In case of Land Property related POA, copy of updated tax receipt (Dakhila) of respective land and update Record of Rights (Khatian/Porcha);
6. Land Registration Certificate (জমির দলিল);
7. Succession certificate (attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka, Bangladesh) where applicable;
8. Any relevant Bangladeshi document (s) [attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka, Bangladesh]
9. UK Proof of address such as Council Tax/ H M Revenue statement / Latest Bank Statement/ Utility Bill (Gas bill/ Electricity bill/ Water bill) not more than 3 months old/ Driving License/ University letter mentioning UK address.

For Recipient(s) :

1. Copy of Bangladeshi Voter / National ID card / Valid Bangladeshi Passport / Bangladesh Birth Certificate with 17 digit Birth Registration no.;
2. 3 (three) copies of recent passport size photograph (colour photo with white background);
