Very Important:

Please note that applicant aged 06 (six) and over must be present in-person at the Assistant High Commission for biometric enrolment.

Applicant below the age of 06 (six) does not require biometric enrolment and hence, is exempt from in-person attendance.

Documents Required for e-Passport:

For new e-Passport or conversion of MRP to e-Passport:

1. Printed copy of duly filled-in and signed Online e-Passport Application Form (with bar code). To fill out the application, please visit: www.epassport.gov.bd.

2. Photocopy of applicant’s Bangladeshi National ID Card or Bangladesh Birth Certificate with 17 digit Birth Registration no.

Online or e-verified birth certificate is also accepted.

3. Original Bangladeshi Passport (MRP or hand-written).
(i) Any mismatch between the application and applicant’s NID will not be accepted under any circumstances. Application will be processed as per NID information. Those who do not have NID and have Bangladeshi Birth Certificate (BRC) containing all information in English, information as per BRC and MRP shall match.
(ii) For lost passport: police report containing lost passport number is mandatory.
(iii) MRP against Home Office: An original Home Office letter mentioning the name and passport number of the applicant /copy of passport certified by the Home Office (in case the passport is retained by the Home office);
(iv) Letter from Home Office must be recent and not older than 03 (three) months.

4. Recently taken 3R sized color photograph (Lab Printed) with white background (For applicant’s aged below 06)

5. Photocopy of applicant’s foreign passport or BRP

6. Parent’s Passport copy (For Minor applicant)

Child’s detailed UK Birth Certificate mentioning parents name (For Minor applicant).

7. Marriage Certificate / Divorce Certificate (If applicable);

** Document(s) generated in Bangladesh must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs [For marriage/ divorce certificate or document, the process is to get first attestation from the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliament Affairs and then subsequent final attestation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs]

**Document(s) generated in United Kingdom must be attested by FCDO (Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office)

8. Student ID card and letter confirming full time studentship from respective educational institution (If the applicant is a student).

9. UK Proof of address such as Council Tax/ H M Revenue statement/ OR Latest Bank Statement/ OR Gas bill/ Electricity bill/ water bill/( Not more that 3 months old) OR Driving License Copy/ OR University letter mentioning UK address.

How To Apply:

Step-1: Filling in Online e-Passport Application

Before submission, please carefully check the spelling & accuracy of the information you have provided and bring a print out of the dully filled-in submitted e-Passport application with barcode.

Step-2: Booking Online Appointment

Please <Click here> for e-Passport appointment. Please ignore the auto generated appointment (if any) that may appear on your application form.

Please carefully note the following-

Without prior appointment, no application will be accepted
Bring a print out of the appointment schedule
Step-3: Submission of e-Passport related documents

e-Passport applicant must come to the Assistant High Commission in person along with required documents and fees at as per pre-scheduled appointment date and time.

Please carefully note the followings-

An interview may be required prior to data enrolment if any anomaly / anomalies found in the supporting documents;
The Assistant High commission reserves all rights to accept/ reject an e-Passport application and request for any additional document(s) at any stage of e-Passport process for necessary scrutiny.
Step-4: Biometric Enrolment

e-Passport applicant is required to come to the Assistant High Commission with adequate time in hand as the whole process of enrolment might take at least an hour.

Applicant’s finger prints (ten fingers), Iris (both eyes) signature on the electronic pad and photograph will be taken at the bio-enrolment booth;
The applicant should retain the delivery slip carefully without which e-Passport will not be delivered. If lost, a lost report from the concerned police office is mandatory to submit the e-Passport.

How to Pay:

Fees are to be paid to the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission, Manchester.

The fees can be paid by either of the following methods –

Debit card;
Postal Order Payable to “ Bangladesh Assistant High Commission, Manchester”;
Payment may also be made by phone using debit card (only when the Mission official contacts the applicant/s).
Note that in no circumstances cheque/ credit card/ cash payment will be accepted.

e-Passport fees:

e-Passport fees for General Applicants:

48 pages and 5 years validity: GBP £96.00

48 pages and 10 years validity: GBP £118.00

e-Passport fees for Students:

(students aged below 18 can apply only for 48-page passport with 5-year validity)

48 pages and 5 years validity: GBP £30.00

48 pages and 10 years validity: GBP £50.00

Submission and Collection:

In-person: Upon arrival of the Passport, the applicant will be contacted our collection schedule is as follows:

Tuesday and Friday 15:30 hrs – 17:000 hrs (Except Public Holidays and Bank Holidays).

By-post: As soon as the passport arrives at the Assistant High Commission, it will be despatched by Royal Mail with applicant’s duly-paid envelope.

Service Collection Time in-Person
Tuesday and Friday 15:30 hrs – 17:000 hrs (Except Public Holidays and Bank Holidays).

*Applicants aged 18 or over should visit the Assistant High Commission to collect e-Passport. They must bring their delivery slip and payment slip to collect the passport. Parents of applicants aged below 18 may collect the passport of their child. The parents must bring their ID and above documents to collect their child’s passport.

*An authorised person by the applicant may collect e-Passport on applicant’s behalf. In that case, an authorisation letter containing particulars of the applicant and the person authorised is required. The authorised person must bring his/her Original Bangladeshi passport or NID or Foreign ID card with him or her and original enrolment slip.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Overview
